Transactional Emails

Transactional emails are system-triggered messages sent to individual subscribers based on their actions — not campaigns you send to your whole list. Dispatch Pro lets you design each one with the same visual builder you use for campaigns.

The three types

• Confirmation email — sent when someone submits the subscription form. Contains the unique opt-in confirmation link. The subscriber must click the link to become Active.
• Welcome email — sent after the subscriber clicks the confirmation link and their status becomes Active. Optional — can be disabled if you don’t need it.
• Unsubscribe confirmation — sent after a subscriber clicks the unsubscribe link. Confirms that their request was processed. Optional — can be disabled.

How they differ from campaigns

• Sent to one subscriber at a time, triggered by their action — not queued and batched
• Do not include the campaign unsubscribe footer — adding an unsubscribe link to a confirmation email would create a confusing circular experience; Dispatch suppresses the footer on all transactional sends
• Each email has its own subject line, body, and editor mode setting

Editing transactional emails

1. Go to Dispatch → Transactional Emails
2. Select the email type you want to edit (Confirmation, Welcome, or Unsubscribe Confirmation)
3. Edit the subject line
4. Choose your editor mode: Visual Builder or Raw HTML
5. Write or design your email content
6. Click Send Test to preview the output in your inbox
7. Click Save

Available merge tags

• {{first_name}} — subscriber’s first name
• {{email}} — subscriber’s email address
• {{confirm_url}} — the opt-in confirmation link (Confirmation email only)
• {{site_name}} — your WordPress site name
• {{site_url}} — your WordPress site URL

Enabling and disabling

The Confirmation email cannot be disabled — it is required for double opt-in flow. The Welcome email and Unsubscribe Confirmation can each be individually enabled or disabled from their respective editor screens.
