Installing SuperMute
SuperMute is available on the Google Play Store and requires minimal setup. Installation takes less than a minute.
Step 1: Install from Google Play Store
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device
- Search for “M Media SuperMute”
- Tap Install
- Wait for the download to complete
Note: SuperMute is not available on third-party app stores. Only install from Google Play to ensure you receive updates and security patches.
Step 2: Launch the App
- Tap Open from the Play Store, or find the SuperMute icon in your app drawer
- The app will open and request permission
Step 3: Grant Notification Access
SuperMute requires Notification Access to display a persistent toggle in your notification shade. This permission allows you to mute and restore your phone from anywhere without opening the app.
- When prompted, tap Grant Notification Access
- Android will take you to the system settings screen
- Find SuperMute in the list and toggle it ON
- Tap the back button to return to the app
Why this permission is required: Notification Access lets SuperMute place a persistent toggle in your notification shade. Without it, you’d need to open the app every time you want to mute your phone. SuperMute does not read, modify, or collect any notification data.
Step 4: Return to Home Screen
Once permission is granted, return to your home screen. SuperMute is now active and ready to use.
Step 5: Tap to Activate
Pull down your notification shade. You’ll see the SuperMute toggle. Tap it once to mute. Tap again to restore.
Setup is complete. SuperMute will remain available in your notifications until you disable it.
