Common UPC Scanner Issues

Camera Permission Not Granted

  • Open Settings → Apps → UPC Scanner → Permissions
  • Enable Camera permission
  • Restart the app after granting permission
  • Check if battery optimization is blocking camera access

Barcode Not Scanning

  • Ensure good lighting on the barcode
  • Hold camera steady at proper distance (4-8 inches)
  • Clean camera lens if blurry
  • Use manual entry for damaged/unclear barcodes

CSV Export Issues

  • Ensure storage permission is granted (Android 9 and below)
  • Check Downloads folder for exported CSV file
  • File includes timestamps and barcode data
  • Export creates new file each time (no overwrite)

Inventory Mode Confusion

  • OFF = Unique items only (no duplicates)
  • ON = Record every scan (for stock counts)
  • Toggle mode anytime in app settings
  • Mode setting persists between app sessions
