Installation

Installing Dispatch Core takes about two minutes. Have your SMTP credentials ready before you start — you’ll need them during first-time setup.

Before you begin

  • Have your SMTP credentials ready: hostname, port, username, and password
  • Confirm SPF and DKIM DNS records are published for your sending domain — without these, emails will likely land in spam regardless of plugin configuration
  • Confirm WP-Cron is enabled: DISABLE_WP_CRON should be false or unset in wp-config.php

Install via WordPress admin (recommended)

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin
  2. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page
  3. Click Choose File, select mmedia-dispatch-core.zip, then click Install Now
  4. Click Activate Plugin

Install manually via FTP/SFTP

  1. Extract the downloaded zip file on your local machine
  2. Upload the mmedia-dispatch-core/ folder to /wp-content/plugins/ on your server
  3. Log in to your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, and click Activate under Dispatch Core

First-time setup

After activation a Dispatch menu item appears in your WordPress admin sidebar. Complete these steps before sending:

  1. Go to Dispatch → Settings
  2. Enter your SMTP credentials and click Test Connection — confirm you receive the test email before proceeding
  3. Enter your physical mailing address in the Compliance section — required by CAN-SPAM law
  4. Set sending rate limits: start conservative at 30 emails/minute and 500 emails/hour; you can increase these after a few successful campaigns
  5. Add [mmedia_dispatch] to a page or widget area to start collecting subscribers
