Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Dispatch Core.
Is Dispatch Core really free?
Yes. Dispatch Core is free and has no subscriber limit, no send limit enforced by the plugin, and no required account. The only cost you’ll encounter is whatever your SMTP provider charges for sends. You own all your subscriber data.
What SMTP provider should I use?
Any provider that offers SMTP credentials will work — Mailgun, SendGrid, Postmark, Amazon SES, Brevo, or even a transactional Gmail account. For low-volume sending, Brevo’s free tier covers up to 300 emails/day. For higher volume, Mailgun or Amazon SES offer the best per-email cost.
Does Dispatch Core work with WooCommerce?
Dispatch Core works alongside WooCommerce but does not integrate with it — subscriber forms are placed manually via shortcode. It does not send WooCommerce order emails (those are handled by WooCommerce and your SMTP plugin separately). For WooCommerce transactional email customization, that is outside Dispatch’s scope.
Can I send to subscribers who didn’t opt in through Dispatch?
Not via Core — there is no import tool in the free version. Dispatch Pro includes a CSV import tool, but you are responsible for ensuring that imported subscribers have given valid consent. Sending to contacts who have not consented is a compliance violation under CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CASL.
What happens when someone clicks the unsubscribe link?
Their status is immediately set to Unsubscribed. They will not receive any future campaigns. The unsubscribe is instant and does not require them to fill in any form. In Dispatch Pro, an unsubscribe confirmation email is optionally sent after the status changes.
Can I schedule campaigns?
No. Campaign scheduling is not available in Dispatch Core or Pro at this time. Campaigns are sent manually when you click the send button. This is a known limitation.
Does Dispatch track email opens or clicks?
No. Open and click tracking are not available in Dispatch Core or Pro. The plugin records that an email was sent, but does not inject tracking pixels or redirect links. This is a deliberate privacy-respecting design choice and also a known limitation.
